Among the pathologies that may affect the central nervous system the following groups may be distinguished:

  • Cerebral disorders: insomnia, migraines, vertigo, sleep paralysis, epilepsy,
  • Infectious disease: Encephalitis, meningitis, spinal cord infections and etc.
  • Mental disorders: depression, schizophrenia, psychosis and etc.

Disease that may affect the peripheral nervous system on the other hand may be classified according to their etiology in the following groups:

  • Infectious diseases of viral or bacterial origin
  • Infectious and allergic diseases
  • Toxicological disorders: chronic intoxication, toxic infections, blastomotous,
  • Allergy-induced pathologies
  • Metabolic disorders: vitamin deficiency or endocrine disorders( diabetes and etc.)
  • Circulatory disorders
  • Idiopathic and hereditary disorders
  • Traumas of peripheral nervous system

The drugs used in treatment of nervous system disorders may be divided into the following groups:

  • Analgesics and antipyretics - preparations normally prescribe in order to relieve pain associated with many severe and acute pathologies.
  • Anesthetics - drugs used to induce local or systemic anesthesia, in order to suppress the possible appearance of pain during surgery or other type of intervention in the human body
  • Antidepressants - drugs used in treatment of different types of depressive disorders, varying in severity and symptoms
  • Anxiolytics - medical preparations used in treatment of anxiety attacks
  • Epilepsy treatment preparations used in treatment of epileptic disorders of different intensity
  • Hypnotics and sedatives preparations used in order to facilitate sleep
  • Migraine drugs used in treatment of migraine disorders with or without an aura
  • Neuroleptics are antipsychotics drugs used in management of psychosis
  • Nootropic preparations are drugs prescribed with the purpose to improve brain functions : memory, cognition, attention concentration.
  • Parkinson's disease treatment
  • Psychostimulants are psychoactive drugs which induce temporary improvements in either mental or physical functions

Other preparations used in nervous system dysfunctions - among such drugs are preparations for treatment of cerebral haemorrhage, drugs used in vertigo and dementia treatment.
